SPRING ONIONS/SCALLION STEMS DAL/ULLI KADALA PAPPU


INGREDIENTS:-

Toor dal /kandi pappu-1 cup
spring onions-1 (chopped finely)
tomatoes-1
green chillies- 2
turmeric pwd- 1/2 tsp
chilly pwd- 1 tsp
salt- to taste
fresh/frozen grated coconut-3 or 4 tsp
tamarind- small lemon size
oil

FOR SEASONING:-

mustard seeds
urad dal/mina pappu
chana dal/pacchi senaga pappu
curry leaves
garlic cloves
dried red chillies
hing/inguva

PROCESS:-

1.Cut spring onions,green chillies n tomatoes n keep aside.

2.Clean n cook the toordal in a pressure cooker till 4 whistles n mash it n keep aside .
3.Meanwhile,heat a pan n add oil n fry spring onions for 5 mins.

4.Now to the cooked dal add turmeric , chilly pwds,salt,tomatoes,fries sring onins,green chillies,grated coconut n tamarind juice n let it cook well till the tomatoes n spring onions become soft.

4.Take the seasoning ingredients n keep aside

5.Now heat a pan ,add oil n do the sesaoning.

6.Add it to the cooked toor dal n mix it well.


NOW SERVE IT HOT WITH WHITE RICE AND PAPADS BY SIDE.
